Call for Tutorial Proposals

 

 

The ITS2006 Program Committee is soliciting tutorial proposals now so that information about the tutorials can be included in early conference publicity.
  We invite proposals for a day of tutorials to be held on 26 June, 2006, during the 8th International Conference on Intelligent Tutoring Systems, 26-30 June, 2006, Jhongli, Taiwan.

Format and submission requirements

If you are interested in presenting a tutorial at ITS2006, please submit a tutorial proposal to the conference secretariat at: [email protected] via e-mail before March 20, 2006, following the general submission guidelines, including:

(1) Information about instructor(s):

  • name

  • title

  • affiliation

  • address

  • phone

  • email

  • short biography with experience in instruction (tutorial, teaching)

(2) Information about the tutorial:

  • Title of tutorial

  • Objectives to be achieved

  • Contents and topics to be addressed (one page description, Table of contents)

  • Preferred duration (half or full day)

  • Target audience

  • Background knowledge expected from the participants

  • Format and schedule (allow time for discussion)

  • Material to be distributed (handouts, software, etc)

  • Equipment needed (PCs, Internet access, etc)

  • Anything else attendees should know

Tutorial proposals should not exceed 3 pages.  Tutorial handouts will be published for each accepted tutorial.  Accepted tutorials will also produce a one page abstract to be included in the main conference proceedings.

 Important Dates

March 20, 2006 - Proposals due

April 5, 2006 - Notification of acceptance

April 15, 2006 - One page summary for the main conference proceedings due

May 26, 2006 - Tutorial handouts due
